Our Journey

Welcome to Active Development, where children achieve through sport.

Active Development was founded by Nathan Loader in 2012. With passion for sport and coaching children, our journey began with a multi-sports summer holiday course at Paulton Junior School inspired by the London Olympics.

Over the years, we organically grew into a leading children’s sports coaching provider in the region. We have delivered P.E Lessons in over 15 schools, and ran summer holiday courses in multiple locations across Bath and Gloucester.

Today, we focus our energy on our seasonal Soccer Camps at Paulton Junior School, where our mission is a simple one. For all children attending to stay safe, play lots of football and have as much fun as possible.

Our Founder

Nathan has delivered Soccer Camps, P.E Lessons and After School Clubs at many schools in the South West over the past 15 years. A UEFA A Licenced football coach, currently employed by Bristol City following 10 years at Southampton FC Academy.

Away from work, Nathan enjoys spending time with his young family, children Eva and Ethan.

TESTIMONIALS

What people say about Active Development

We were a little nervous on our first day, not knowing anyone or what to expect but the arrival immediately put us both at ease.  He was greeted with a warm welcome, everything was explained to him on what to do and someone took him from the registration out to the field to meet the other coaches who immediately involved him in a game with other children his age. You could see his relief at being involved straight away, no awkward intros, just come and play football with a coach overseeing each game.

I just wanted to say thank you for all the work you have done with Evan. I’m sure this had played a big part in him doing well (Successful football trial) and more importantly his confidence and happiness improving in everything. He loves your after-school club sessions and camps and gets so much out of it.

I attended Active Development when it first started, I was there from 2012-2015 and it was amazing, the coaches and staff are extremely welcoming and supportive. Staff put time and effort into activities, help kids succeed, which makes for a fun and competitive experience!! My time at active development was something worth remembering (even if it was so long ago I’m now 17yrs!).
Ed, former attendee, now 17 years old
My son had the best two weeks with you all, so a massive thank you. He’s not done anything like this before and has already asked me if he can come next time.

I found Active Development when I was looking for activities for my older boy 12 years ago. He loved it and attended 3 years on the trot. Then years later my younger boy has just attended his first sessions and also loved it.  Both boys didn’t know any other children and were very young, but because of the friendly, fun, inclusive and attentive atmosphere they both wanted more. So thank you lads for setting up such a great active place for children to enjoy and grow.

I can’t thank active development enough for the football holiday clubs they have provided over the years. Owen first attended when he was age 7 and every year since he has enjoyed being part of the sessions. The coaching, structure of the day and enthusiasm of all the coaches is amazing. Owen always leaves wanting more and the smiles on the children’s faces at pick up says it all.

I just wanted to say a massive thanks for another brilliant holiday club for my 8yr old boy. He loves every second each year and makes sure I book him in to every available day as he enjoys it so much! He is football mad but also just loves sport in general. Thank you all for making it so fun for him/ them all and for being professional, approachable and caring. Keep up the great work and we hope to see you again next year.

After his first day, he was so excited to tell me about the games he’d played, who’s team he was in, what happened, the goals and lifting the trophy at the end – living his best life!  He was buzzing about going back the next day and wanted to be first in.  He was tired out but enjoyed every minute. I’d highly recommend this to anyone who has a football fan looking for something fun to do over the holidays.
